ABOUTGunaha Atsidilashi is a partnership between Tsuut’ina Gunaha Institute, Tsuut’ina Education Department and Chiila Elementary in offering Tsuut’ina Gunaha immersion programming in Chiila Elementary. The program operates out of Chiila Elementary as a separate and distinct class dedicated to teaching curriculum in the Tsuut’ina Language and cultural traditions as a full day program. The intent is to track and maintain children in this program for 3 years to assess language learning successes and challenges through immersion programming. A strong foundation of cultural identity and language is imperative to building a strong sense of nationhood and connecting our children, families and community to one another through traditional understandings, ways of knowing and language.
